2012 Presidential Buzz Heats Up In Iowa
January 31, 2011 - 7:13 PM | by: Marla CichowskiPlenty of easy-to-write-with black markers and a stack of freshly printed books at a Barnes & Noble in West Des Moines, Iowa. Yet another sign that former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is getting more serious about making a decision whether to run for President in 2012. Pawlenty brought his national book tour to central Iowa today, spending about an hour signing his new book, “Courage to Stand” and greeting supporters. More than three dozen people stood in line to meet the former republican governor who tells Fox News he will make an announcement about his intention to run for President by late March or early April. One of the last people to have a book signed by Pawlenty was Drake University senior Erin Bramhall, political science/pre-law major. Brahmall says she wanted to meet Pawlenty because she appreciates his Midwestern values and she’d really like to see a candidate from the Midwest run for President. Bramhall worked on one-time republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani’s Iowa campaign back in 2007 and is excited to find out which republicans will make a run for the White House.
