Iranian General dies in an Israeli prison?
January 3, 2011 - 12:32 PM | by: Yonat FrilingThe Israeli blogosphere is boiling over a news flash that was published a few days ago in one of the leading news sites: an unknown and unnamed prisoner died in Ayalon prison. The news flash was removed off the site moments later. Some bloggers claim that the prisoner in question was known as Mister X, and he is Ali Reza Asgari, a former Iranian Revolutionary Guard general. Asgari has disappeared in Istanbul Turkey in 2007.
Western news outlets reported in 2007 that he either defected or was kidnapped by the Israeli spy agency Mossad, with the assistance of western intelligence agencies.
Last week, Iran’s Press TV has reported that the country’s defense minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has condemned the circumstances of Asgari’s death and attributed it to Israel. Iran’s defense minister says “the suspected death of Iranian prisoner Ali-Reza Asgari in an Israeli prison is another test for those who internationally advocate human rights. If the credibility of this report is proved, the dossier on Israel’s kidnappings, assassinations and murders will become thicker.” said on Wednesday.
Both Israeli prison authority and the Israeli Secret Service “Shin Bet” refused to respond to Fox News’s questions, claiming the information is under gag order. However, an unnamed Security source tells us that this is a “fabricated tale. Al Asgari was never in Israel. “ The source claims that he lives with his family in a western country, under their constant observation.
The question remains, who according to the reports, was the person who died in Ayalon Prison.
