$1 Million Bond For Accused OH Kidnapper
November 16, 2010 - 7:25 PM | by: Ruth RavveMT VERNON, Ohio- One million dollars bond, no 10% payment allowed. That’s the decision of a Knox County Ohio judge, for a man accused of kidnapping a 13 year old girl.
30 year old Matthew Hoffman was in jail but could be seen on a screen sitting next to his court-appointed attorney at the bond hearing “because of the high profileness of this case” police said. Hoffman was wearing what’s known as “a suicide gown” because police and mental health workers think he could be a danger to himself, Knox County Sheriff David Barber said “By being in the suicide gown, he is” under suicide watch.
The teenage girl was found bound and gagged in Hoffman’s basement Sunday morning, according to police. She was apparently being held by him for several days. The teenager is one of four people who vanished last week from Knox County. The other three people, her mother, brother and a family friend are still missing.
