Amanda Knox To Star In Prison Christmas ShowSeptember 21, 2010 - 7:47 AM | by: Greg Burke
Convicted killer Amanda Knox, a college student from Seattle currently serving a 26-year sentence in Perugia, Italy, is expected to star in the prison’s Christmas concert.
The music teacher at the prison said Amanda is a “formidable soprano” with an incredible voice.
The 23-year-old Seattle native was convicted of killing her flatmate from England, Meredith Kercher, in November of 2007, when both were studying abroad in Perugia.
Amanda, also known as “Foxy Knoxy,” is a big Beatles fan, and once wore an oversized tee-shirt to a court appearance with the words, “All You Need Is Love.” She reportedly spends much of her time in prison practicing guitar.
The Knox trial, which will continue with an appeal this fall, has riveted audiences in both the U.S. and the U.K., with many Americans believing Knox got a bad deal.
The case has already spawned several books, and now a movie is on the way, starring Hayden Panettiere. Note to casting director: Amanda may be cute, but she’s not that cute.
