U2’s New Songs: Will Bono Be Buono?
August 5, 2010 - 6:11 AM | by: Greg BurkeTomorrow night in Turin, Italy, U2 holds its first concert since Bono had back surgery in May. Fans of U2 are legion, and those camped out in front of the Olympic Stadium in Turin have already recorded new material from the band’s practice sessions.
Ticket holders in Turin are hoping to be rewarded with two or three new songs. Fan websites have already come up with titles for two: “The Flowering Rose of Glastonbury” and “For Your Love—North Star.”
The songs would have already emerged by now, but U2 had its European tour interrupted by Bono’s surgery. U2 groupies gathered outside of the stadium also reported that Bono and Co. were also heard belting out “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me,” the 1995 song that was on the soundtrack of “Batman Forever,” suggesting that it might also be added to the tour concerts.
