July 11, 2010 - 1:37 PM | by: Michael Sorrentino

According to Hulan Hanna, of the Royal Bahamas Police Department, alleged “Barefoot Bandit”, Colton Harris-Moore led cops on a high speed boat chase just before he was arrested.
At one point, shots were fired, though it is unclear whether they were fired by the suspect, police or both. PD officials tell us that when he was apprehended, Mr. Harris-Moore had a pistol in his possession.

Colton Harris-Moore has evaded police in the US for nearly 2 years, cops say he has been cooperative and now sits in Police custody in Nassau, Bahamas where he is expected to be arraigned later this week.

A Bahamas police source told wire service NewsCore: “He was caught off a place called Harbour Island, which is part of Eleuthera. He was in his boat, which we believe was the same one he stole last week.

“Police had to shoot out the engine of the boat to stop him. If he had have got south from there he would have been away.”
