Gingrich:Whole Country Could Become Detroit

December 11, 2009 - 3:11 PM | by: Robert Lee

ST CHARLES, IL. – While campaigning at a fundraiser for Ethan Hastert, the son of another former Speaker Of The House Dennis Hastert, Newt Gingrich spoke out against the left and Copenhagen agendas.

Former Speaker Gingrich told a crowd of about 250 people that Republicans could win in left leaning areas if they are willing to do the legwork.

Warning the 14th District Republicans Mr. Gingrich said, “The other side has no answers. The other side is not going to improve anything. And if we are not careful the other side is going to turn the whole country into Detroit. Then we will all be uneducated, we will all be poor, and we will all live in dangerous places.”

Although Mr. Gingrich praised President Obama’s Nobel lecture on a “Just War”, he took exception to the climate treaty talks in Copenhagen.  ”It is going to be a disaster, and we should be committed to not implementing Copenhagen in its current form.”
