The Value of Agriculture in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. There will be more workers out of a job when the government lays off up to 12,000. There are agricultural jobs available but there are few takers-especially for the arduous task of picking coffee beans.

 

In this video Angel Santiago, owner of Encantos Coffee explains why making agriculture a larger part of the Puerto Rican economy is important for the future of Puerto Rico.
