Ft Hood Update

November 6, 2009 - 8:49 AM | by: Maggie Lineback

A press conference has just ended at Ft. Hood. Thirteen people were killed and 28 others are still in several hospitals around the area. Of the dead, 12 are soldiers and one was a civilian. No names have been released. The injured are all in stable condition. The suspect, 39-year old Major Nidal Malik Hasan, is also in stable condition at a civilian hospital. Investigators are not commenting on a motive and they are still trying to figure out if anyone was hurt by friendly fire. They say Hasan acted alone.

Several hundred behavioral health workers will be on the base to health people cope with the loss. A day of mourning has been declared on base.

last night when my associats and i became aware of the breaking news reports from kileen,tx.(FT.HOOD) one of the individuals remarked that someone"MUST'VE" made fun of him(THE REASON/EXCUSE). well as a trained former EOAC(equal opp.adv.to the CMNDR.)we of the UNIFORMED SERVICES of the U.S.(LEA/MIL)perform our service with the utmost trust in our fellow members regardless of what the general public may believe.we have been the world leaders of diversity,so a remark like the above is just another blame America first.

As a military spouse and a mother of two soldiers, I am in agreement with the comments Anne made this man acted out of hate, not from having PTSD as many of our soldiers suffer with. This man was never deployed, we as tax payers paid fort his education. The man needs to be punished to the full extent of the law. God Bless all of our Soldiers and Family Members. Can we take back our Country.

I believe this man acted out of hate for the military! He wasn't going to have to go into battle field, when deployed as he is a doctor sent to help those that do face danger and death every day, he was suppose to bring hope into their lives not take their lives!
