Reaction To Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize

October 9, 2009 - 5:11 PM | by: Svein Schwab

US Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) said that "President Obama enjoys a very positive reputation around the world", and that the Nobel Peace Price will "inspire him" to make this a safe world for everyone.

Speaking at Hyde Park Academy High School in Chicago, Durbin noted that President Obama put the Nobel Peace Prize in perspective.  Durbin said that the president accepted the Peace Price on behalf of our nation.  "...and our commitment to our values, and peace and freedom around the world."  Durbin also said that he hopes this will inspire all of us to work for world peace.

The Nobel committee went political. Ultra liberals in Europe that control the committee used this to publiize their anti-Bush attitudes. It weakens the Nobel to what it is now..............useless.

Durbin. One of only 8 that voted to continue funding Acorn. The one who flipped, flipped, and flopped again on Burris appointment. He is the epitome of what's wrong in Washington. At least the President didn't bash Bush in his acceptance speech. That's a first.

President Obama made the world more peaceful through his personality, point of view, and ethnicity; accomplishments are useful but sometimes not necessary! He deserves the award!

That's right - after 8 years of war, meaningless torture and general worldwide hatred - one needs to do NOTHING in order to stand out! Obama is the first to admit that this isn't for his 'accomplishments' - more of a world's recognition of America's return to real leadership!

I hope no one is actually surprised by this. After all he did as much to earn the Nobel Prize as he did to earn the presidency. This is a hollow victory for an empty suit.
