Relief at the Pump
September 17, 2009 - 10:39 AM | by: Maggie LinebackWe’re live today at the Fuel City in Dallas, TX. It’s a gas station right across the highway from downtown. It seems like it’s busy at all hours, but owner John Benda tells us usage is actually down right now, down about five percent. Why? Blame it on the kids. Benda says about this time every year when kids go back to school, usage drops. The summer travel season is over and it’s back to the books.
Usage isn’t the only thing that’s down. So are prices. Nationally, prices are about $2.59 a gallon. That’s down about 6 cents from a month ago. With less usage and gasoline supplies up, industry experts say to expect that trend to continue.
