One DNA Match=Arrest of Yale Murder Suspect
September 16, 2009 - 6:06 PM | by: Rick LeventhalChief James Lewis of the New Haven Police Department updated the media just after 5:30 this afternoon. No arrests in the case but two more search warrants served on property and a vehicle owned by Yale lab technician Raymond Clark III. Clark is the only “person of interest” on whom warrants have been issued.
The evidence is being processed. There are more than 250 seized items. Investigators are prioritizing and results could come “in thirty minutes or hours”. If there’s a single match, the Chief says an arrest warrant will be issued in “just a couple hours”.
When asked about concerns Clark might try to run, the Chief said “we know where Clark is at all times.”
He won’t discuss evidence, he won’t discuss motive and he won’t discuss relationships between Clark and other family members (his fiance, his sister and brother-in-law) who all worked in the lab and Annie Le who did her research there.
The other tidbit: Clark did custodial type work according to the Chief, mostly cleaning the cages of the lab mice.
