Eight Dead in Mobile Home

August 31, 2009 - 9:23 AM | by: David Lewkowict

An eighth person is dead in a mass murder at a mobile home in Brunswick, GA. But police remain tight-lipped about what happened Saturday in the normally peaceful coastal community. One survivor remains in critical condition at a Savannah hospital.

Investigators removed bags of evidence Sunday, that police Chief Matt Doering says he hopes will help find the killer. "There's nine victims in this and we're comfortable that none of those nine was involved in this assault."

Doering isn't revealing how the victims were killed but that he is "absolutely 100 percent certain what happened," and "absolutely certain how it happened."

Police have arrested one man, 22 year-old Guy Heinze Jr., who says he discovered the bodies and called 9-1-1.  He was charged with tampering with evidence and drug possession.  Police aren't calling Heinze a suspect but are not ruling him out.  Law enforcement say he is cooperating.

Heize screams, " My whole family is dead,"  in a frantic 9-1-1 call to police. The recording was release Monday.  Heinze is weeping and say he found the victims when he came home Saturday morning and that it looks like they were beaten to death.

Heinze said, among the dead are his father, uncle, and cousins. He pleads with 9-1-1 operators to send help for a survivor who was still breathing but whose face was "smashed in."

A $25,000 reward is being offered for information. Doering says, "we need help."  Police acknowledge they don't know if the killer is still out there, and urge residents to be cautious.

Everyone who is choosing to use this story to pass judgment on the type of living establishment these people chose, assuming you've got the case all figured out (after all, you've seen what? every episode of CSI and CSI: Miami, right??), you ignorant, hateful blobs of flesh are the kind of people who are dragging our country to the of hell. Too stupid to formulate one. single. intelligent. thought. It is a shame vile trash such as yourself have the freedom to express any little thought that your feeble mind conjures up. Learn some respect, empathy, and try to educate yourself to at least a third grade level.

I CAN READ

It will be difficut for police to question the suvivor, if the poor child survives, because he's 3. The other boy who almost suvived, was an individual with down's syndrome. So, only the most vulnerable survived the attack? I think this says something about the murderer(s)

the kind of speculation as to "whodunnit" that I see on here is exactly why it's impossible to get a real fair trial at all anymore. Once the story hits the news, everyone forms an opinion, and it's hardly an unbiased one. People need to withhold judgment and let the story unfold.

This is a horrific tragedy and those of you who look down on people because of the type of structure they live in should be ashamed. You'll find trash in the finest of homes!

I have a degree in Criminal Justice and it's crazy how everyone thinks your innocent until proven guilty. Which is false, because when a person gets arrested, or brought in everyone is going to think they are guilty. So when they go to trial everyone thinks they are guilty so they have to prove they are innocent. I believe 100% that you are guilty until proven innocent.

Funny how He(Guy)hide a gun in his trunk from out of the trailer...which btw..i use to live in and grew up in a half a million dollar home and now live in a home and it's paid off...so "trailer's" mean nothing just a stepping stone in life. As far as them not knowing the way they were killed, they didn't need to be traipsing all over the place before they were able to get a hold of what was going on to determine what needed to be done next and if any live people needed transporting first.. IF Guy did it...why did he ask Michael where are you hurt..why did he tell them he is still alive..why didn't he finishing killing him so he couldn't tell that Guy is the one that did this?? Some of you people need to think before you write your thoughts...The police are keeping quiet about things so not to have the suspect get rid of the evidence or him/them run if they are still in town or alive...be patient they are doing all they can. The police aren't just sitting around a table playing cards all day..they are out sometimes all day and part the night away from their families and out in this heat so calm down and be patient...and keep the stupid comments to yourselves..Best thing you can do is Pray to God and ask him to help give peace to the family of the victims, the officers and the family members of the officers that are away from them.

Maybe "guy" owed some dealers drug money, or ripped them off. One person didn't do this.

What signs? Hardly anything has been released on this case. That is a pretty unfair assumption so early on.

Maybe he was taken into custody for his own protection. His whole family had just been slaughtered - maybe he needs to be kept safe until the killers are in custody. I am not condoning his drug "whatever" - but I don't believe this young man committed this act. I also don't think any body needs to apologize or be ashamed of where or what you live in - that is your business. Just be safe.

i see on here people say this had to be the work of a group of people because of the number dead.police didnt say this happened all at once.john gacy and jeff dahmer both killed numerous people a hell of alot more than this and police never showed until way later

The last time I checked, we live in a country where everyone is innocent until proven guilty. The fact that this man was found with drugs does not make him guilty, nor does the fact that he was found with drugs prove the family was killed over drugs. The fact that the family lived in a trailer does not prove the family was killed over drugs either. Could they have been killed by this man or over drugs? Sure they could have, but the cops have not released any information...therefore, nobody can say what happened. And personally, I am pretty sure if I walked into a home where 9 people had been murdered, I would be able to tell if they had been beaten or shot. It does not take a skilled investigator to determine the difference. And all of this nonsense about judging these people on the home they live in, making jokes, and using the term "white trash"...shame on you! Eight people murdered and one in critical condition, and people want to judge their lifestyle?! No no one life is valued more than another.

Why does it always have to do with drugs or racism when involving a Trailer Park?? I live here and altho the mobile homes are not gorgeous it is a very peaceful place to live until this inncident happened. And just to let everyone Know they were white! It may be a trailer park and some of us may be poor be BY NO MEANS are we trailer trash and we all deserve respect like anyone else.

I think the police would know if it was Heinze, because one would think he'd at least have gotten a scratch or bruise while bludgeoning 9 people.

That's one of the most bogus 911 calls I've ever heard. And as a dispatcher/911 Operator, I've heard them all. Dude's trying too hard to be freaked out over finding his family dead, and not very convincing. Staged call. And he keeps referring to the victims as "beaten"--in shock and horror, most people wouldn't even use that phrase. Just too convenient to "be away" from the home when 8? 9? people are brutally murdered. They have the correct suspect in custody.

I don't doubt that this kid had something to do with it or knows who is responsible. But ONE person cannot severely beat 9 people to death like this alone. It would take a person for everyone in the house to pull this off so quickly without getting caught by a neighbor.
