A Health Care “Discussion”
August 7, 2009 - 2:22 PM | by: Robert LeeIn Kewaunee Wisconsin, a quiet lake front community just east of Green Bay, a surprisingly quiet group of area residents sat down to listen to the proposed health care plan and express their point of view. While some people did travel from as far as a hundred miles away, and a couple people did shout out protests the vast majority were folks from the area with views on both sides. Gone were the “angry protesters” seen at other meetings and when somebody did try to yell out of turn, people on both sides told him to sit down and be civil. What came from the event held by US Rep. Steve Kagen was a two hour discussion keeping mostly on track . Most people who spoke were against the proposed plan, and an unofficial tally would put the attendance at about 60 percent against the bill.
