NASA Scrubs Launch, Again,bc of Weather

July 13, 2009 - 6:45 PM | by: Serafin Gomez

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fl- NASA  again scrubbed a launch attempt because of weather concerns. They are evaluating whether they should attempt tomorrow or the next day.

CAPE CANAVERAL,Fl- NASA is set for the  5th attempt to launch Endeavour's STS-127 mission to the International Space Center. Liftoff is scheduled for 651pm EDT today but NASA meteorologists continue to monitor the weather. Currently, there is a 40 % chance of "GO" for launch this evening.

Two prior attempts were scrubbed after a leak was discovered on a hydrogen venting line to the external tank during the fueling process. The Space Shuttle was rescheduled to launch on Saturday but was postponed after a lighting storm on Friday afternoon that resulted in multiple lightning strikes in the Launch Complex 39A. Yesterday's launch was delayed until today because of an outlining thunder storm that developed within a 20 mile radius of the launch pad, NASA has protective criteria establish that prohibits a launch if storm activity is found in that radius right before launch.

MystWlker

Aren't these the same guys who try to tell us they can predict the climate 10, 20, 30 years down the road, and yet they can't predict the path of a few thunderstorms in real time............?
