CAPE CANAVERAL, Fl- NASA has completed fueling of the Shuttle Endeavour's external tank, an important development after after two of its three prior attempts this summer, were cancelled due to a hydrogen venting leak. Another good sign ,the weather for the attempt is looking exceptionally positive with the current forecast at a seventy percent chance of a "Go" for tonight.Yesterday's launch attempt was postponed for a day following a lightning storm on Friday that produced 11 lightning strikes around the launching pad area.A NASA team of engineers inspected the spacecraft's systems but found no damage to the the shuttle's systems due to the severe weather.
PER NASA:
Endeavour's external fuel tank has been filled with more than 500,000 gallons of chilled liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen propellants. The shuttle's trio of main engines will draw from the external tank during the push to orbit. There are no indications of a leak, and fueling has entered the "stable replenish" mode.
Countdown clocks have entered a planned hold at T-3 hours and everything remains on schedule for a 7:13 p.m. EDT launch of Endeavour from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.Launch coverage will begin at 2 p.m. on NASA Television and NASA's Launch Blog.
