Ohio Poll Suggests the Honeymoon is Over

July 9, 2009 - 3:48 PM | by: Robert Lee

A July seventh Quinnipac University Poll conducted in Ohio found that President Barack Obama's approval rating has sunk below fifty percent for the first time. A May 6th survey had the President at a 62 point level, but the new poll shows those numbers have dropped to 49 percent. Barack Obama won Ohio with 52% of the vote, and this poll seems to show some of that support may have gone away. Fox News traveled to Cincinnati to talk with Ohioans to get a feel for the political mood and the economy in this important swing state. Watch some interviews here...

Well they only spend 10% of their stimulus, obviously the 10% has not done one thing for us. Let's see what happens to the other 90% they still have. That is what baffle's me, they are talking about a 2nd stimulus while they are still sitting on $700 billion that has not gone out yet. The longer they sit on it the more will disappear mark my words. At the end of the day we will be told that they can not accoount for a few billion dollars.

It is time for a new government. I feel so strongly about this....stronger than I have felt about anything. If we want this country to survive we must clen out Washington, DC....NOW! The first thing that should be instituted at the new constitutional convention is TERM LIMITS. Career polititians must be a thing of the past. They have created this mess and the silent masses have allowed it.

I'm so sick of all this spending. How is any of this helping the economy? How are taxing everything and bailing out all the companies that put us here in the first place helping us? Not only do I live in Ohio, but I'm a recruiter and see first hand what this economy is like. Daily, I see people losing their jobs. I actually think that Biden and Obama did read the economy correctly at the time. They've spent the last few months making it worse, not better. Until recently, we were busy placing people and putting up record numbers. I work 60+ hours a week and it ticks me off that my money is going into his beliefs, not necessarily mine. How is making everyone poor helping anyone out? I am not a political major and wish I would have paid more attention in Civics class, but shouldn't there be people in place that keep him in line with all of this money that he's just blowing? It makes me sick to see it. I want stock in all these companies that he's using my money to bail out.

Why is the current administration trying so desperately to avoid an audit of the Federal Reserve? Hmmm... could it be because an audit would take down the entire house of cards. When a government is corrupt... it's time to get a new government! It's time, folks!!!!

I knew Ohioans were smart and clearly voiced it... Ohhio is a state of common sense and values and it's not surprising that many good people were elected pres. from Ohio. Ohioans pick the real deal up quickly and I do have concern for our coal and oil guys, a back bone for our state and nation....how dumb do you have to be to punish them with cap and trade....I have yet to figure out if the new govt people plus BO are dumb, no common sense, greedy, power hungry which breeds mmore hunger for power, pressured to do wrong by the unions etc. Maybe all of the above because it isn't logical to keep going in the wrong direction so many times and not listen to experience from the past and history. We can get rid of some of them next election and then BO on 2012. He is a complete idea in peoples minds and now we see the sorry person. Sad to say he is an empty suit!

WAKE UP BUCKEYES!!!!!!! Mr.Obama has already broken most of his campaign promises. Don't forget our other elected leaders who are backing Mr. Obama's every move. Their political agendas do not equate in jobs for Ohioans.

What was on the news this morning about Obama helping a woman who was star stuck???? Thank God, finally the nation is waking up. How on earth have you been so stupid? Obama is not and will never be "The One!" He's a joke that too many Americans are just now beginning to see through.

Regardless of the poll numbers, I'm not sure the people of Ohio would necessarily hold Obama responsible for their economy at this time. I just pray that something good will come their way soon.

Here in the South we knew what Obama was about. That is why we did not vote for him. Now people from all over that voted for him are now regretting their decision. He really needs to worry about the United States and stop sticking his nose out the country. He has given them more money and we, Americans are in a recession. What does that tell you? I'm counting down the days until next election. I don't care if a bum off the streets will run. Obama will sure in the hell not get my vote.

Wake up people. It's time to stop blaming Bush. Obama owns it all now. The only change you can believe in is that if this Administration continues on its present course, it's only going to get worse.

Obama's stated objective is to destroy coal and oil - both are crucial to Ohio's economy. His promise of "millions of green jobs" - nonexistent - flies in the face of reality - we Ohioans have not reached the bottom yet - this administration will make sure of it.

Anyone who says things are better, are delusional. Obama is bringing us closer and closer to global implosion. I don't see this ending well, rough times are ahead to be sure.

This is the first poll that actually reveals the opinion of America. It is also encouraging to have a sliver of hope that not everyone wants to be totally dependent on the government.
