Blanket, Feldman the Post-Tribute Buzz

July 8, 2009 - 12:34 PM | by: Hollie Mckay

The buzz in LA post-memorial is focusing on Michael's adorable kids (good buzz, who will ever forget Paris' tearful farewell, plus we saw Blanket for the first time ever) and Corey Feldman's bizarre Jackson impersonation at the Staples Center (bad buzz, what was he thinking?). I talked to longtime Hollywood publicist Michael Sands for my Pop Tarts column and he was disgusted by Feldman, told me Corey was "trying to jumpstart his career by parasiting off of an old quasi friendship with Michael."

Meanwhile, the mystery over what is happening with Jackson's remains, well, remains. Am tracking down a few leads and will check back in with any insight...

Zoe

I am quite upset about some of the thoughtless things that are being said about Michael Jackson. I didn't listen much to his music, though liked some of his songs, but felt I had to write and deliver my "2 cents" worth, so here it is: I am so very tired of the attacks on Michael Jackson's character. Each of us deal differently with any childhood trauma to which we may have been subjected, whatever the degree of trauma. I don't know what his father was like, but I believe the degree of trauma Michael suffered at his hand is evidenced in the life Michael lived. Now I am not speaking of what I am ABSOLUTELY convinced were false charges levied against Michael, but rather to what I see as evidence that here was a man desparate to give to others what he himself never had as a child, or at least had in very short supply - love and acceptance! And it's a typical response. How many a parent has longed to give their child what they themselves never had? How very poignant that this soft-spoken, humble man simply wanted to give LOVE. He learned a lesson early on that the majority of adults aren't tuned into - you get, what you give.........and you actually get double, because in giving you are blessed and in receiving in return you are blessed. I would think to such an intelligent and gifted little boy this became a powerful reinforcer...not to commit any wrongs, because, as I said, the things he's been charged with just don't fit his personality. You know if you sad, pathetic, self-satisfied little beings could get out of yourselves you might come to recognize that there are rare individuals that occassionally come to stay a time on this earth who just simply love people, no ulterior motive, they just simply have the capacity to love unconditionally. And mankind has become so jaded they just can't seem to fathom anyone loving just to love, so they come up with all manner of sordid ideas to explain what they are simply not emotionally or intellectually able to understand. The sad thing is no matter how loudly they accuse, what they think and say says far more about themselves than it ever does about the object of their hate. And yes, stupid, pathetic humans hate what they just can't or won't understand.

The reverse racism argument is laughable. As long as whites make the majority of all hiring decisions and the majority of all firing and lay off decisions there will always be a need to make sure their decisions are fair and balanced. Elvis was the real racist who stole music from african americans. So glad michael married his daughter lol.

People that pay attention to this website are being brainwashed, as I can see in these comments. Are you kidding me. As you read this you think I am probably going to hell because I disagree with your believe system. You pick and choose which part of the bible to hate with. Gays, blacks, non-rednecks, people who drive hybrid cars, are not like you. Get over it. Stop hating on us for being "non-white-man". Let go of Reagen. F Bush. I am so glad Obama was elected. Bunch of hypocrites. Keep shopping at Wal-Mart and shunning your unwed daughter. You made this country. Look where we are today because of following your new religion. Yes I'm racist. I can't stand hate filled Christians. You have made my life difficult because of hate. So I have nothing for you too. There is no such thing as bipartisan support. You guys agree on one thing and we agree on a different thing. Alas, it looks like you Bush orgy is over and it is time for change. Thank God! Oh and by the way. I'm not going to hell because it is a made up place. And snakes can't talk (well except for Rush).

"Why is it that every time somewhere disagrees with what black people think they are called a racist." Because it is easier to accuse someone of being a racist than having an intelligent discussion about the disagreement. That usually happens when the accuser can't back up their claims with facts.

To Not Racist - I totally agree with your statements. I am the object of reverse discrimination at work. I'm a single parent paying for my child's college education while minorities and foreigners have college PAID FOR by the government. It should not cost anyone a dime! Everyone should have the opportunity to go to college without incurring huge debt. To lacy: Being from the South has nothing to do with anything. Do you think only Southerners have the right or the intelligence to notice there is now discrimination against Caucasians in the US? NOT! I voted for President Obama and still feel he is / was the most intelligent person for the job! I want him to succeed b/c if he succeeds, the US succeeds. Hiss, boo Republicans!

Michael Jackson was a freak. I hope his genes are removed from humanity- and he had nothing to do with the children. Just as we take a breath and it was confimed that Jackson didn't father the kids. We do know the genes of Debbie Roe are going to be around for at least one more generation...

How I agree with you. The public, his fans, family, weirdo Rev. Sharpton, and some of the news people are off their balance beams. Have we soon forgotten people that were true to their craft: Dean Martin, Elvis, the Beatles, Perry Como, Nancy Sinatra, just to name a few. The singers and entertainers from the past can hold a candle way above Michael Jackson.

NOT RACIST: I completely agree! You sound like u live in the south as I do. Only God can start this revolution thats much needed for these people! I dont think you are racist at all, you are just stating the OBVIOUS!!!!! And i completely agree with you on blacks being more racist than whites. I have actually looked up the statistics on the internet before!

Of course Michaels father was there. You could see Him when the people who spoke went to greet the family. Whatever You may think of Michael this was a beautiful trubute. With all the coverage on TV everyday I said I wasn't going to watch the memorial but I did. Considering the short time they had to put ot together they did a wonderful job.

Why is it that every time somewhere disagrees with what black people think they are called a racist. I see more racism in black people than i do white. Wake up!! Stop having illegitimate babies that all of us have to support - in other words - put a permanent cap on it or try keeping it in your pants for a change. No one agrees with discrimination but take responsibility for your actions and stop acting like you are "due" anything. Work for it!!

He was a beautiful angel put on this earth to try and help others and spread his goodness. It's a real shame when people have nothing better to do than to make up evil and hurtful stories. I hope you are proud of yourselves. Michael has met his maker and I am sure he has already earned his wings. Just remember, you too will be judged one day. I hope for your sake that you are not persecuted by the ones you love before you die. Neverland Forever!

oh and another thing wich i find TOTALLY disgusting is this.......all of the black people in america are saying he was like a tribute to their bklack heritage...well wake up people!!! he was OBVIOUSLY doing ANYTHING that money could buy not to be black!!! do you really think he would have had babies with a black woman????? of course not!!! he wanted them as white as possible!!!! i find it so disgusting that this man actually shunned his heritage by tryin to turn himself white!!! there is nothing wrong with the heritage we are born with and we should all stand up and be proud even if you are born pink with purple polkia dots!!!!! son all of you black people out there saying he is part of your heritage well your level of proudness is very grotesque and this is coming from a white person!!!!
