Blanket, Feldman the Post-Tribute Buzz

July 8, 2009 - 12:34 PM | by: Hollie Mckay

The buzz in LA post-memorial is focusing on Michael's adorable kids (good buzz, who will ever forget Paris' tearful farewell, plus we saw Blanket for the first time ever) and Corey Feldman's bizarre Jackson impersonation at the Staples Center (bad buzz, what was he thinking?). I talked to longtime Hollywood publicist Michael Sands for my Pop Tarts column and he was disgusted by Feldman, told me Corey was "trying to jumpstart his career by parasiting off of an old quasi friendship with Michael."

Meanwhile, the mystery over what is happening with Jackson's remains, well, remains. Am tracking down a few leads and will check back in with any insight...

Wow Lisa. Harsh words. Take a chill pill girl. Why is everyone making a big deal about Michael Jackson? LET ME ASK YOU THIS..Why are you taking the time to read all about him and write negative things about him? If you didn't care, wouldn't you just turn the tv off and the computer off and walk away. Let the people heal in their own way. Don't be so judgemental of someone else when you haven't walked in their shoes. Besides, who are you to judge him. That's Gods job. Everyone is not perfect. Yes, even you. I'm sure one of the questions asked at the pearly gates is, "How did you use your God given talent? and What did you do to help "heal" the world? Michael found his talent and used it. How many of us out there can honestly say that? I really think Michael did the best he could in this cruel world. In different ways he did give back to the world. He did live a life we could never imagine. I never knew Michael, but I remember dancing with my grandmother to his songs. He help create a memory for me. My heart breaks for his kids because they only had a short time with him and now they have to deal with alot of ugly people out there for many years to come. Like you Lisa, who never knew their father, reads and believes the tabloids and had nothing nice to say about their father. Well, for every handful of people like you, I hope there are 100 times more people with good hearts who will remember him and help his kids remember him as a loving and good father and one that had a talent never to be matched.

Strange as he may have been from time to time, this man lived 45 of 50 years in the public eye. I cannot imagine my entire life chased by the ever truthful eye of the camera. My every mistake, intentional or otherwise in front of the watchful eye of the camera lens, to be paid for and pasted on the cover of dozens of magazines across the globe. Geez, my neighboors annoy me when they seem to know a little too much about my personal life. But let us not forget behind it all was a man, a human being. He was a father, who now leaves children who obviously love him dearly, and why wouldn't they, he was their daddy. He was a brother, and a son with a grieving mother, and siblings, and a good friend by all accounts. So in all of the oddness that the media portrays him in, let us think to ourselves were it our time to meet our maker, what would we want to be remembered for? What strange or odd habits we had, and you know you have one or two, or that you were a great friend, parent, brother or sister, son or daughter. He deserves if nothing else a moment of humanity. His children are the most important part of his legacy. RIP MJ

I am from Chicago and grew up on the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson. I am sorry about his death. I am sorry that he never got the help that he so desperately needed. He truly screwed up his face over the years, didn't want to have kids from his genes, and as horrible as it sounds, he was a junkie. I have kids and I know that if they did anything remotely like Mike, I would have stepped in and intervened. It is NO way that I could stand around and watch the craziness that Michael indulged in. Money or no money, that should never be the driving force on how you treat people or your family. They needed to get down to the basics, peel back the onion and get to the root problems in his life. It is so sad, a waste of talent. The only good thing is that he probably didn't know what hit him....he was under and just never woke up. Life goes on and he will be a distant memory after awhile.

As a Christian, I should not be saying this, but the only way the Jackson family will ever come together and stop the bickering will be by the death of Daddy Joe. This money grabbing so called human being has been the biggest disgrace to this family for many years. Yes, it may have been Joe who brought the Jackson’s to fame, but with his big head, $$$ filled eyes and ego got in the way and his beating of the kids, that took all credibility away from him.

YOu know, I used to like Foxnews but since Obama won, you have become sour grapes and it just turns me off. Now, the way you cover Michael's memorial, all you broadcast is about how much money it will cost the taxpayers. That's so disrespectful. Couldn't you wait until after he's laid to rest? Thanks for the above comments on Michael's contributions to the humanitarian causes as well as how good a human being he was. He just wanted to re-live his childhood. Yes, I would allow my children to stay overnight with him. Look at his home videos on YouTube. Also, the News of the World's publishing of his unseen video on in the 1993 court appearance. Michael, no matter what weird things people say about you, nothing will make my heart change. Thank you for sharing all the love, the beauty, the gift of music, dance and the art in general. You have been such a blessing for us in this world.

The real question has yet to be asked: WOULD YOU have let YOUR children or grandchildren sleep in Michael Jackson's bed with him? Michael once begged a women to let her child sleep in his bed with him overnight. I am sorry but the behavior that M.J. exhibited were not appropriate.

Whether or not you think he was an outstanding entertainer or a living freak show is less important than the fact that the media and millions of people in this society exhibited a response to his passing that was well beyond anything we've ever witnessed for fallen heroes (one who has sacrificed their lives to save others), fallen religious leaders, or fallen Statesmen. I viewed him as another pop-star/entertainer who died unexpectedly, similar in some ways to Elvis, and certainly worthy of being mourned by his fans. However, this media and societal response was beyond rational and out of proportion to anything we would expect for an entertainer. I wonder whether Jesus Christ himself would receive such a response in this culture. I fear it reflects (regardless of the degree to which our pop culture hype-mediaplex machinery pulled the puppet strings) that we live in a "circus maximus" society in which the values are now upside down -- and a population replete with mindless sheep and zombies who fulfill their empty lives through drugs, idol worship, and escapism.

Look at a picture of MJ when he was just an abused child, any picture between the ages of 8 and 15. Look at his (?) children, they look like the re-constructed version of MJ. Bleached, nose jobs, not products of the Jackson gene pool.

Why is everyone bringing up political stuff? Since you libs started it, I have to finish it. Who started the whole housing crisis/scam? Clinton and Dodd. While Bush was in office, the stock market shot sky high. the economy was good. unemployment was low for the first 6 of his 8 years. The last 2 years, what happened? The socialist welfare democrat party got control of congress and started forcing things through that dropped our markets a few thousand points. What happened when your "Messiah" was elected and congress got a democrat majority? Little hint, "Hello, market bottom.....where are you???" You liberal people posting on here are so self centered and ignorant that it kills me. What is it? If we dont believe what YOU say, we are wrong? If we dont believe what YOU believe, we republicans are the close minded ones?????? Well Demotards, YOU are the closed minded people since no democrat I have ever met was even willing to fully listen to someones thought before responding. A conservative or republican starts talking and you interrupt. Its like a reflex. Maybe its true what psychologists can see....if a person doesnt respect themselves theres no way you can respect another. Michael Jackson was a great musician. Let him be remembered for that. Do not bring race into it because as the white firefighters in New Haven CT can tell you, THEY got discriminated against. If Michael Jackson had stayed black, would you have been willing to call him a child molester? no, because then you would be labelled as a racist. Oh but by all means its acceptable once hes white according to you people. Get over yourselves. Identify with yourself, not your own skin color. We are all Americans, and we all have differences. Now shut the F--- up and get to work on bettering your OWN life and have enough pride to get it yourself instead of making someone else get it for you.

Far Out

There is a lot of discussion out there, so let me start another one. Conspiracy Theory: Michael Jackson has put on the greatest performance of all and is sitting back somewhere lovin' it all! Exhibit 1: One story states that Prince saw his dad fall out on the living room floor and was drying loudly as people worked on MJ. Story that's been accepted as fact DR found MJ unconsious on the bed. Exhibit two: MJ was bald and weighed 112lbs. Did you see rehearsal video? Enough said! Exhibit three: Photo taken of MJ being loaded on ambulance appears to be at night. What time was he suppose to have died? How fast do you think his so-called debt will be paid off now? I wish I was in debt where I could pay $100,000 a month for my home. Come on people, Talk to me.

I think the memorial was a wonderful caring, loving, sharing way to send Michael off to Heaven. It gave many people the chance to either be part og the memorial by being there, or by watching it all over the world. I think his children love Michael very much, and I am so glad that they got to be part of his memorial and wittness all the good things people said about Michael. I am glad they know he was loved all over the world. My thoughts and prayers will always be with the three of them. I wish there were a web site which sold the Michael Jacksom Memorial booklet that all who were lucky enough to get tickets, got the book as well. Maybe La should should ask for $5:00- $10:00 dollar donationtion towards city clean-up for a cormemitive Michael Jackson Memorial Program booklet. That would be two fold, help pay towards the clean up from the memoial and also give us fans a chance to get the memorial booklets.

He's gone now. The show is over, He is with his Maker. Leave it alone. We all have our own issues to contend with. What is true about his life is known by only one being. We are not he judge and jury. Let's just be a little kinder to each other.

I really, really don't understand you people. What's all this story with black/white? Who cares? MJ was black and white, he was born black and then he became white. He had black nephews, so he wanted multiracial children - by the way, his youngest son seems to be of indian heritage. His skin, his children, his choice. Only you americans make a big deal out of ot. I am European, I've grown up with his music - he was the only western artist known in the communist block. I can't believe all the abuse on the american forums. I understand now why MJ was so stressed the last years, you people are always ready to believe the press. He could do nothing right, poor man. I've learned a big lesson living under communism: don't ever believe what's written on a piece of paper only because it's there, go and search the truth by yourself. I 've seen so many innocents in jail, so many destroyed by fabricated accuses. Without proof beyond doubt, don't pass judgement: you may destroy a life, and there is a God who sees you. Fortunately, most MJ fans don't understand any English beyond his songs, so they're not exposed to your vicious dirt.
