During a Detroit Police press conference today at 2:45 edt, aimed at updating the press, the press ended up updating the police. Police had just finished a statement indicating their desire to find eighteen year old Jamel Turner, when a reporter informed Dep. Chief James Tolbert that the suspect “just turned himself in within the last five minutes.” {VignetteMedia id=”B70DE5E8A8B79FCE505555252E3C05BF” autoplay=”off” aspectratio=”1.77″ assettitl=”Detroit+Police+Presser” width=”375″ height=”211″ }Tolbert responded that “We’ve been here for five minutes, and if that happened then you know more then I do.”  However Tolbert also stressed that more people were involved, and they will be found. At the end of the scheduled presser Chief Barren confirmed Turner did indeed turn himself in a short time ago.
