In a press release announcing a video posted Tuesday, on the popular internet site YouTube, the South Carolina Democratic Party says Governor Mark Sanford’s behavior has turned their state into “a national punchline that even leading national Republicans won’t defend.”

The organization claims, “Sanford’s irresponsible conduct has made South Carolina into a laughing stock, but his abuse of power is no laughing matter.”

“South Carolinians need to know if Governor Sanford’s reckless, irresponsible behavior constituted illegal behavior.” Wrote Carol Fowler S.C. Democratic Party Chair who called on S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster to investigate the governor’s actions.
