A parking deck leased by Georgia Institute of Technology – better known as Georgia Tech – partially collapsed during the midday hours Monday.  The structure, located at 5th Street and Spring Street in midtown Atlanta is in an area known as Tech Square. Located in the heart of the school’s campus, the newly developed complex is surrounded by office buildings, restaurants and hotels. Multiple floors of the garage fell, crushing cars.  No injuries were immediately reported.  Atlanta Fire and Rescue personnel were on scene.  There was no construction taking place.
