South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler issued a statement slamming Governor Sanford and his staff.

Fowler called the Governor’s trip “the height of irresponsibility” saying “Mark Sanford has been pretty much missing in action for the last 6 and a half years. But it is not acceptable for him to be actually missing.”

The party also criticized the Governor and his staff for having been “less than truthful about his whereabouts”.
