Jessi Walter was on the fast track – a wall street wunderkind who worked for Bear Stearns – but when the investment bank went bust the New York city native decided to try something new. She turned to her long time hobby – baking – and made it her business. With 25 thousand dollars in savings she started Cupcake Kids – offering cooking classes and birthday parties for children. It has been a year since she was laid off from Bear Stearns and now she runs a profitable business and she has the bad economy and getting laid off to thank!
